Theme 3: Active and adaptive learning objects
ARIES master’s student Carrie Demans has been selected as a finalist for the 2008 Google Anita Borg Scholarship, which honours women in computer science and technology. She will be travelling to a Google hosted networking summit in New York City this May.
ARIES PhD student Scott Bateman will spend the summer as research intern working with the Social Software group at IBM Watson Research Center, in Cambridge, MA.
Prof. Jim Greer and ARIES PhD student Chris Brooks will be presenting a talk at the First International Conference of the new Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) in Banff, April 29th. The talk entitled “Increasing the Usability of Online Video Lectures” will highlight Chris and Prof. Greer’s research in classroom video capture.
